Sui Huang, MD, PhD is an Associate Professor in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. His research focuses on nuclear organelles' roles in cancer metastasis and genome regulation.
- Education: MD from Fudan University (1982), PhD from Rutgers University (1990)
- Postdoctoral training: Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory (1997)
Research Interests center on nucleoli and perinucleolar compartments (PNCs) in cancer cells. His lab uses cancer-specific nuclear features like PNCs to develop anti-metastatic drugs, notably the experimental compound metarrestin, which disrupts nucleolar structure in cancer cells without general toxicity.
Recent Publications highlight his work on ribosome synthesis inhibition, nuclear organelle dynamics, and noncoding RNA organization of nucleolar territories. These studies span Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, and Molecular Genetics.
