Suganti Ramarad is an Associate Professor at Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, affiliated with the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences. Her research focuses on sustainable materials and industrial problem-solving in polymer science, particularly in plastic and rubber waste management, biodegradable composites, and additive manufacturing technologies such as fused deposition modelling.
Her research interests span polymer waste management, biodegradable composites, and 3D printing, with a strong emphasis on industrial applicability and environmental sustainability. She actively contributes to UN Sustainable Development Goals through innovations in recycling and eco-friendly materials.
The recent publications highlight a consistent trend in sustainable materials research, particularly in rubber waste biodegradation, 3D printing for environmental applications, and composite material development. Her work integrates microbiology, materials engineering, and environmental science to develop commercially viable and eco-conscious solutions.
Dr. Ramarad has secured funding from prestigious sources including the Fundamental Research Grant Scheme and the International Atomic Energy Agency. She is currently accepting PhD students and is committed to mentoring the next generation of researchers. Her collaborative network spans international institutions and industry partners.
She is actively involved in research labs and teams focusing on polymer innovation and sustainable manufacturing. Her group explores novel pre-treatment methods for rubber waste and develops advanced 3D printing techniques for environmental and industrial applications.
