Suela Kacerja

Suela Kacerja is an Associate Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Science, Faculty of Humanities, Sports and Educational Sciences, University of South-Eastern Norway. She coordinates master's courses in mathematics didactics and serves as Deputy Head of Department for Research. With over a decade of experience since 2012, she teaches mathematics didactics at all levels (bachelor, master, PhD) and supervises master's and PhD candidates.

• Research Focus: Critical mathematics education, mathematical modeling in schools, ethical and democratic dimensions in teaching, and interdisciplinary curriculum implementation
• International Experience: Teacher educator in Albania and Norway, visiting professor at the University of Prishtina, and collaborations with institutions in South Africa and Albania
• Leadership: Co-leader of the mathematics didactics research group, Work Package Leader for the ViMTE project, and project manager for "Mathematical Toolkit Design North-South"
• Projects: Involved in externally funded initiatives like Argument, LATACME, EvaFag2025, and international indices modeling projects
