Sue Tarrant

Sue Tarrant is a Senior Lecturer in Law, Innovation and Enterprise at the Kent Business School, University of Kent. She serves as Deputy Head of School and holds a Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Her doctoral studies focus on higher education pedagogy at the Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CHSE).

Education:

• BA(Hons) in English, Magdalene College, Cambridge University (1991)
• Masters in Higher Education, University of Kent (post-2010)
• LLB top of class graduate, Kent Law School (2010, part-time)

Research Interests: Sue specializes in serious games for legal education, notably developing LexCarta Let’s Moot!™. Her work explores how game-based learning fosters evaluative judgment through comparative and consequential feedback mechanisms.

Teaching & Professional Background: Combines legal education with entrepreneurship, teaching tort, contract, company law, and business strategy. Prior to academia, Sue founded a marketing consultancy advising major firms like IBM, BT, and Virgin Media, and served as a professional business copywriter. She held roles with the Chartered Institute of Marketing and Kent Chamber of Commerce.
