Sue Roberts serves as Associate Provost for Internationalization and Professor of Geography at the University of Kentucky, where she has been a faculty member since 1991. She leads the university's International Center, overseeing global engagement initiatives across six operational units including Education Abroad, International Student Services, and Global Health Initiatives.
Her educational background includes:
- BA from University of Leicester (Britain)
- MA and PhD from The Maxwell School at Syracuse University
Roberts specializes in economic and political geography, conducting field research across Southern Mexico, the Caribbean, Ireland, and Australia. Her scholarly contributions include a co-authored book, two co-edited volumes, and numerous publications, supported by National Science Foundation grants. From 2012-2017, she served as North American Editor for Progress in Human Geography.
Her leadership has earned institutional recognition:
