Dr. Sue Jones is an Associate Professor in the School of Pharmacy & Medical Sciences at the University of Bradford, part of the Faculty of Life Sciences. She holds leadership roles including chairing the Education, Innovation Research and Development (EIRD) research group and previously served as Programme Leader for an MSc/PG Diploma in Primary Care and Community Pharmacy. Her career transitioned from clinical pharmacy practice to academia, driven by a focus on educational innovation.
Education background includes a PhD exploring technology-enhanced CPD for healthcare professionals, completed as part of an EU-funded project. She previously held roles at King’s College London, where she co-founded the MA in Clinical Pedagogy and developed educational programs addressing intercultural healthcare and professionalism.
Research interests center on student-centered learning methodologies, including Team-Based Learning curricula and peer assessment strategies. Key projects include the 'Making Time' initiative supporting patients with learning disabilities, cultural awareness training for healthcare professionals, and motivational interviewing techniques in pharmacy education.
Awarded the 2017 Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) for curriculum reform efforts, her work emphasizes enhancing student experiences and interprofessional education. She currently supervises doctoral research in dementia care transitions and diabetes self-efficacy innovations.
