Sue Field is an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Centre for Law and Justice, Charles Sturt University. With a background as an Australian Legal Practitioner, she specializes in Elder Law and has contributed to research, policy development, and education in this field for two decades.

Her research focuses on capacity and succession law, supported decision-making, and legal frameworks for aging populations. She has led funded projects like the Cognitive Decline Partnership Centre, which produced policy guidelines, refereed publications, and educational resources for aged care providers.
Sue has secured multiple external grants, including:
- $132,000 (2014) for studying financial institutions' policies on substitute decision-making instruments (Principal Researcher, Western Sydney University)
- $600,000 (2015) for Supported Decision Making research (Lead Investigator, University of Western Australia)
- $25,000 (2016) for GP knowledge studies on enduring guardianship (Principal Researcher, Western Sydney University)
She has been recognized as a:
