Professor Sue Black OBE is a Professor of Computer Science and Technology Evangelist at Durham University, UK's 3rd oldest institution. She transitioned from a challenging background as a young single parent with limited qualifications to becoming a leading tech figure. Her roles include UK government advisor, thought leader, social entrepreneur, and public speaker. She holds a PhD in software engineering and advocates for digital inclusion.

Her research focuses on technology as an enabler, women in tech, and digital skills. She founded BCSWomen (UK's first online network for women in tech) and #techmums, training underserved women.
