Dr. Sudhagar Pitchaimuthu is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Mechanical, Process & Energy Engineering, School of Engineering & Physical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University, and serves as Associate Director of the Energy Materials and Technology theme at the Research Centre for Carbon Solutions (RCCS). His expertise spans over 15 years in materials science, focusing on multi-functional nanomaterials for solar energy applications, environmental remediation, CO₂ recycling, and biosensor technologies. He holds prestigious fellowships from JSPS (Japan) and Ser Cymru (UK), and has contributed to global initiatives through expert panel roles in policy, energy, and STEM advocacy.
Dr. Pitchaimuthu has authored over 125 peer-reviewed articles, including 9 hot papers, with an h-index of 46. He mentors students from diverse backgrounds and teaches engineering courses. His outreach includes media engagements (BBC, Nature), organizing international conferences, and founding the ANEH Scientific Foundation to support rural STEM education and women in science.
