Dr. Su Jin Lee serves as Assistant Professor and GIS program director in the Department of Applied Computing & Geomatics at Oregon Institute of Technology's Klamath Falls campus, leveraging his Ph.D. in Geography from the University of Southern California (2012) to advance geospatial education and research.
His academic credentials include:

Dr. Lee's research investigates human-environment interactions through geospatial technologies, with primary focus on climate change adaptation, wildfire/drought monitoring, land use transformations, and environmental justice in urban contexts. His methodological expertise encompasses drone-based spatial data acquisition, remote sensing, and advanced GIS analytics for environmental modeling.
With nine years of full-time instruction at USC and part-time roles at Ventura College, Moorpark College, University of Minnesota Duluth, and CSU Long Beach, he teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Geographic Information Systems, digital cartography, and environmental studies. As GIS program director, he oversees curriculum development and academic administration while integrating FAA-certified drone operations into geospatial training.
