Su Guo is a Professor and Director of the Center for Collaborative Innovation at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) School of Pharmacy. She is affiliated with the Department of Bioengineering and Therapeutic Sciences and serves as Co-director of the Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics Graduate Program (PSPG) and the Neuroscience Graduate Program. Her research focuses on the molecular genetic mechanisms underlying brain development, behavior, and neuropsychiatric disorders, utilizing zebrafish as a primary model organism. Dr. Guo's work spans genetics, neuroscience, neuropharmacology, and developmental biology.
Her recent publications highlight studies on neuroprotective compounds for dopaminergic neurons, asymmetric cell division in radial glia progenitors, and behavioral assays in zebrafish. Key research trends include investigating neurotransmitter systems (dopamine, serotonin, noradrenaline), neural circuit mapping, and pharmacogenomic approaches to drug discovery for neurological conditions like Parkinson's disease and addiction.
