Stéphanie Ruphy is a Professor of philosophy of science at the Université de Lyon, France. Previously, she held academic positions at Grenoble Alpes University (2012-2017) and Université Aix-Marseille (2004-2012). She is affiliated with the Department of Philosophy and serves as President of the Société de philosophie des sciences (since 2014).

Research Interests
Stéphanie Ruphy specializes in the history and philosophy of physics, epistemology, and astrophysics. Her work bridges general philosophy of science with societal issues like science, values, and democracy. She has extensively explored scientific pluralism, notably in her monograph Scientific Pluralism Reconsidered (Pittsburgh University Press, 2016). Current research focuses on the epistemological foundations of democratizing science governance through projects like ANR-funded "democrasci".
