Stéphanie Jeanjean serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor at The Cooper Union, where she teaches art history. She also holds teaching positions at Sotheby's Institute of Art and The Graduate Center (CUNY), where she instructs in French translation. Additionally, she lectures regularly on modern/contemporary art at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and on French/European art for Smithsonian Journeys.
Education:
• M.A. from Bourgogne University, Dijon
• Ph.D. from CUNY Graduate Center, New York
Research Focus: Her scholarly work centers on French militant video practices and Sociological Art movements, with publications in journals like Afterall and anthologies including Feminism-Art-Theory (Wiley & Blackwell) and Exhibited Cinema (ECAL/JRP-Ringier). She examines intersections of art, social activism, and feminist discourse.
Current Projects: She is preparing the first English-language publication on the Sociological Art Collective (with Maud Jacquin) and co-curating an exhibition on women, design, and protest (with Alexander Tochilovsky) at The Cooper Union's 41 Cooper Gallery.
