معرفی
Professor Stuart Penkett is an atmospheric chemist at the University of East Anglia's School of Environmental Sciences, where he established the Weybourne Atmospheric Observatory. His research examines atmospheric composition changes and human impacts on atmospheric chemistry.
Research Focus: His work investigates chemical processes behind environmental issues including acid rain formation, ozone depletion, and climate change. Current research analyzes changing atmospheric composition through long-term monitoring at Weybourne Observatory, with particular attention to ozone and related gases.
Honors: Recipient of the Gaskell Memorial Medal (1987) and Haagen-Smit Award (2003) for foundational research on acid rain formation. Fellow of the Royal Meteorological Society, foreign member of Max Planck Society, and Leverhulme Emeritus Fellow.
Leadership: Former leader of NERC ACSOE research programme and current chairman of reactive gases group for WMO Global Atmospheric Watch programme. Served on advisory groups for UN ozone assessments and EU atmospheric research initiatives.
