Stuart Amateau

Stuart Amateau, MD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School and a leading expert in gastrointestinal endoscopy. He holds dual appointments in the Department of Medicine and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, where he serves as Division Director and director of the system-wide GI service line.

• Expertise in endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), bariatric endoscopy, and advanced luminal interventions
• Research focuses on endoscopic technology development, pancreaticobiliary disorders, and gastrointestinal cancer palliation
