Dr. Stu Ryan is a Professor in the Department of Teaching, Leadership, and Research at the University of West Florida's School of Education. He serves as the program coordinator for the Curriculum and Assessment specialization in the Ed.D. program. His office is located in Building 85, Room 190 on the Pensacola campus.

Dr. Ryan's research explores three primary areas:
- Teacher effectiveness: Optimizing pedagogical strategies in physical education.
- Acoustics in education: Investigating noise pollution's impact on learning in physical education settings, with findings showing consistent exceedance of ANSI standards.
- Childhood obesity: Developing interventions for healthier lifestyles.
His landmark study measured noise levels across 22 Florida schools, leading to recommendations like sound amplification systems and architectural modifications.
