Stinne Gunder Strøm Krogager is an Associate Professor at the Department of Communication and Psychology, Aalborg University, within The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities. Her research focuses on mediated communication, digital media's role in everyday life, and the intersections between food culture, media use, and sustainability. She holds a PhD from Aarhus University (2009-2012) and has served as an external lecturer there. Krogager’s work bridges Media Studies and Media Sociology, emphasizing empirical studies of everyday practices related to food and media. Key research areas include ethical consumption, aesthetics, gender dynamics, and the green transition.
Her teaching spans undergraduate and graduate programs in Communication and Digital Media, including modules on qualitative research methods and media-food intersections. She co-edited Research Methods in Digital Food Studies (2021) and authored Mad og medier (2021), exploring food aesthetics and digital culture. Krogager leads projects like Unges bæredygtige forbrug i en digital hverdag (2022-2022) and contributes to the Environmental Humanities cluster (2021-present). Her recent work examines eco-anxiety on social media, algorithmic profiling’s impact on consumption, and sustainability narratives in food branding.
Her research outputs include over 60 publications (2010-2026), spanning journal articles, books, and edited volumes. She has been an active member of academic networks, organizing conferences and serving as the Editor-in-Chief of MedieKultur: Journal of Media and Communication Research since 2019. Krogager’s interdisciplinary approach integrates digital humanities, media theory, and sociocultural analysis to address contemporary challenges in food systems and environmental communication.
