Stine Jørgensen

Stine Jørgensen is Professor of Social Law and Discrimination and Equality Law at the University of Copenhagen's Faculty of Law, affiliated with the WELMA Centre for Legal Studies in Welfare and Market.

Her research focuses on:

• Poverty, vulnerability, and social rights in welfare states
• Discrimination across gender, ethnicity, disability, and social status
• Children and young people's social rights including climate rights

Recent publications (2021-2025) analyze Nordic welfare models, EU legal integration, social assistance systems, and child rights frameworks through interdisciplinary legal methodologies, highlighting tensions between tradition and innovation in social protection.

She contributes to academic discourse as editor of the journal Retfaerd and through membership in the University of Huddersfield research network, advancing WELMA's mission on legal dimensions of welfare-market dynamics.
