Dr. Stina Jelbring is an Associate Professor at the Department of Asian and Middle Eastern studies, Stockholm University. She specializes in Japanese literature and culture, with a particular focus on the Heian period (794–1185).
- Teaching: Japanese grammar, text reading, society, and culture
- Research: Metaphor theory, translation theory, and classical Japanese literature
Her ongoing project Genji Monogatari: Metaphor and Translation analyzes metaphorical concepts in classical Japanese treatises and their English translations. She also studies the poetry of Ono no Komachi, a Heian-era female poet.
