Stina Bengtsson is a Professor of Media and Communication Studies at the Department of Culture and Learning, Södertörn University. Her research explores media use in everyday life through phenomenological, material, tempo-spatial, and ethical lenses, focusing on how media practices, technologies, and texts shape daily existence and the construction of a 'good life'.

Her work emphasizes phenomenological approaches to media, highlighting embodied and sensorial interactions with technology. Recent projects examine algorithmic culture, media micro-generations, and ethical dimensions of digital media reliance.
Key research themes include mediatization, digital distinctions, and virtual environments. Her publications span empirical studies on news relevance, smartphone morality, and media's role in constructing social and cultural spaces.
She has held leadership roles as Vice Dean (2020-2022) and Dean (2022-2025), focusing on educational quality, research ethics, and strategic university governance. Teaching spans MKV A, MKV C, and doctoral programs.
As a visiting researcher, she has collaborated with London School of Economics (2015), University of Calgary (2018), University of Helsinki (2021-2022), and University of Bergen (2025). Her methodological toolkit combines micro-oriented ethnography with interdisciplinary analysis.
