Steven Weinman is a Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Motility Division at the University of Kansas Medical Center School of Medicine. As Director of the Liver Center and Vice Chair for Research, he leads clinical studies and tissue banking initiatives.

His research explores macrophage roles in alcohol-associated liver disease, focusing on Kupffer cell heterogeneity and C/EBPβ-HDL interactions. Collaborative work with Salman Khetani (UI Chicago) utilizes micropatterned co-cultures for liver cell communication studies.
