Steven Tannous

Steven Tannous serves as a Lecturer in the Department of Management at the Marilyn Davies College of Business, University of Houston-Downtown, bringing practical industry experience to his teaching through roles including Six Sigma Black Belt certification and management consulting. A first-generation college graduate who immigrated to the U.S. at age 19, he holds both BBA and MBA degrees in Operations Management from the University of Houston.

Specializing in quantitative management disciplines, Mr. Tannous teaches Operations & Supply Chain Management, Project Management, and Human Resource Management courses, leveraging 25+ years of professional experience in procurement, business statistics, and organizational leadership. His industry background at companies like Fluor Daniel and Valmet Automation directly informs his classroom instruction.

University service highlights include committee memberships on the MDCOB Strategic Planning Committee (2022-2023), MDCOB Scholarship Committee (2023-2024), and Department Faculty Development Committee (2020-2022), along with volunteer roles for Welcome Weeks (2017-2024) and faculty advisement for Delta Sigma Pi business fraternity (2007-2009).

Community engagement features long-standing roles as an ordained Subdeacon (2019-present) and Board Member (2010-present) at Houston's Catholic Church, alongside active membership in APICS (Association for Supply Chain Management) since 1995.
