Steven Roach

Steven Roach is a Professor of International Relations at the University of South Florida, affiliated with the School of Interdisciplinary Global Studies. A Fulbright Scholar and former Honorary Professor at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (2020-21), he has made significant contributions to the fields of global ethics, human rights, and international law.

• Current research focuses on global governance, critical international relations theory, and East African politics (particularly South Sudan).
• Serves on editorial boards of journals like Politics and Governance, Globalizations, and The Journal of African Conflicts and Peace Studies.
• Editor of SUNY Press book series: Ethics and the Challenges of Contemporary Warfare.

In 2022, he received the Theodore and Venette Askounes-Ashford Distinguished Scholar Award, Global Excellence Award, and Outstanding Faculty Award. His students include Yavuz Akdag, Sina Azodi, and others.
