Steven Rendall is a Lecturer in the School of Art at RMIT University, Australia. He holds a PhD from Monash University (2015) following postgraduate studies at the Royal Academy Schools (London) and a BVA(Hons) from DeMontfort University (Leicester). His practice spans painting, sculpture, and video, often incorporating themes of technology, horror aesthetics, pop culture, and art history. Rendall’s work is featured in major collections including the National Gallery of Victoria, Monash University, and RMIT University. Notable exhibitions include Data For Future Paintings at Heide Museum (2023), Collision Drive series (2019), and solo shows at Niagara Galleries. He has collaborated with artists such as Michael Graeve, Bryan Spier, and Andrea Eckersley, and curated exhibitions like Collision Drive and Incidents Above a Bar. Awards include being a finalist in the 2024 Geelong Contemporary Art Prize. Rendall also manages John Street Studios and has supervised research projects on gender in craft and urban identity in Ho Chi Minh City.
