Steven Murdoch

Steven Murdoch is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Dean (Education) at Swinburne University of Technology's School of Social Sciences, Media, Film and Education. He holds a PhD conferred in 2021 and leads the Bachelor of Animation and double-degree Bachelor of Games and Interactivity/Bachelor of Animation programs. His roles include Course Director and Deputy Chair in Film and Animation departments, with extensive experience in curriculum design, industry partnerships, and teaching 3D animation, production, and post-production.

Research focuses on Agent-Oriented Modelling (AOM) to bridge creative and technical aspects of animation production. Awards include Victorian Premier's Design Awards, Red Dot Awards, and Swinburne Vice Chancellor Awards. Teaching emphasizes collaborative, industry-engaged projects and interdisciplinary approaches, preparing students for roles in film, games, and emerging fields.
