Steven Johnson

Dr. Steven Johnson is an Associate Professor of Business Administration at the Godbold College of Business, Gardner-Webb University, where he has served since 2005. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from Louisiana Tech University (1983) and a B.S. in Economics/Finance from Northwestern State University of Louisiana (1973). Before academia, he accumulated 25 years of healthcare management and consulting experience, including roles as Chief Operating Officer at MORPACE Pharma Group, Inc., Senior Vice President of Healthcare Division at MORPACE International, Inc., and owner of Johnson Healthcare Consulting, Inc. Prior to Gardner-Webb, he was a Visiting Professor at Oakland University (2003–2005) and an Associate Professor of Finance at Cameron University (1983–1993).

His research focuses on the financial implications of customer retention and advocacy, with presentations on these topics in the U.S. and Europe. Dr. Johnson’s professional experience spans both corporate and academic sectors, blending practical expertise with scholarly contributions.
