Steven Jackson is an Associate Professor in the Department of Automation and Process Technology at UiT The Arctic University of Norway. He works on the Tromsø campus, where he focuses on process modeling, optimization, and cold climate engineering applications.
- Research Interests: Process modeling, process optimization, carbon capture & storage (CCS), hydrogen production/transport/storage, energy systems modeling, and cold climate engineering
- Teaching: Process Technology, Gas Technology, Process Simulation, and Instrumentation
Research Focus: Jackson specializes in optimizing industrial processes for energy efficiency in cold climates, particularly for CO2 transportation, hydrogen liquefaction, and LNG cascade systems. His work employs advanced modeling techniques including pinch analysis and response surface methodology.
Scientific Contributions: Recent publications include studies on heat exchanger optimization, CO2 pipeline energy consumption, and hydrogen liquefaction process modeling. He collaborates extensively with researchers like Eivind Brodal and Hassan Khawaja.
