Steven Gerondakis is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology at Monash University. He heads the Immune and Cancer Cell Signalling Laboratory, focusing on the NF-κB signaling pathway's role in immune regulation, autoimmune diseases, and cancer. His research employs genetically modified mice to study NF-κB's impact on immune system development and pathology.
Gerondakis has led multiple projects funded by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC), including studies on regulatory T cell development, cancer therapy, and NF-κB transcription factors. His work contributes to Sustainable Development Goals related to health and well-being.
Research interests include NF-κB signaling, immune system biology, and translational strategies to manipulate this pathway for therapeutic purposes. Key collaborations involve institutions across Australia and international partners.
