Steven Gallagher is a Professor of Practice in Law (by courtesy) and Associate Dean (Academic & Student Affairs) at the Faculty of Law, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. His work bridges Law and Technology, Art and Cultural Heritage Law, Legal History, and Superhero Films in Legal Education.

Gallagher’s research examines the intersection of property law with cultural heritage, digital technology, and Chinese customary law. His recent publications focus on NFTs, virtual teaching, and trust law reform.
His academic work spans 10 books and over 100 articles, with trends in digital law, art law, and legal history. Notable awards include the CUHK LAW Teaching Excellence Award 2021-22 and the Vice-Chancellor’s Exemplary Teaching Award 2012.
