Steven Frost (pronouns: they/them) is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Media Studies at the University of Colorado Boulder and an IAWP Faculty Affiliate. They serve as Associate Chair for Undergraduate Studies and faculty director of the B2 Center for Media, Arts and Performance at the Roser Atlas Institute.

Their research intersects textiles, queer history, pop culture, and community development, focusing on how materials embody historical narratives. Frost explores DIY spaces and libraries as platforms for public scholarship, combining traditional weaving with non-traditional materials to examine tactile memories and collective identity.
Recent publications highlight their work in experimental weaving residencies and textile-based activism, including collaborative mending projects like Mend the World and critiques of media representation. Their creative practice includes performance art and sculpture featured in major galleries across the U.S. and Europe.
