Steven Ambrusko

Dr. Steven Ambrusko is a pediatric hematologist/oncologist affiliated with the University at Buffalo. He serves as Assistant Professor at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center and Clinical Assistant Professor at Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences. As Director of the Sickle Cell & Hemoglobinopathy Center of Western New York, he oversees care for infants, children, and adolescents with hemoglobin disorders.

The center offers diagnostic testing, hydroxyurea treatment, chronic transfusion therapy, and outpatient erythrocytapheresis, a unique service in Western New York.

Dr. Ambrusko is a five-time Castle Connolly Top Doctor awardee and featured in Buffalo Spree's 2025 Top Doctors list. His contributions to patient care and clinical research have been highlighted in media outlets like CancerTalk. He also provides consultation at the Vascular Anomalies Center of Oishei Children’s Hospital, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to treat vascular tumors and malformations.
