Steve Zinn

Dr. Steve Zinn is a Professor in the Department of Animal Science at the University of Connecticut, where he has served since 1990. His career spans roles at Cornell University, Michigan State University, and the Worcester Foundation for Experimental Biology, with expertise in endocrinology and animal production physiology.

• PhD, MS, and BS in Animal Science from Michigan State University and Cornell University
• Taught courses including Endocrinology of Farm Animals and Scientific Writing in Endocrinology

Research Interests: Dr. Zinn focuses on growth factor expression in livestock, endocrine regulation of growth, and maternal nutrition impacts on offspring development. His work explores how poor maternal nutrition affects multi-generational feed efficiency in sheep, integrating physiological and metabolic mechanisms.

Scientific Recognition: Notably, Dr. Zinn received the American Society of Animal Science Morrison Award in 2021, reflecting his contributions to animal science research.
