Steve Nitodas is an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Department of Materials Science and Chemical Engineering at Stony Brook University (SBU), teaching core courses in Chemical and Molecular Engineering (CME). He has been a faculty member since 2018 after a career in industry as R&D Director and Business Development Manager in microelectronics and nanotechnology sectors. His research focuses on advanced nanomaterials development via catalytic processes (e.g., chemical vapor deposition) and educational pedagogy.

Research Interests: His expertise spans nanotechnology applications in polymer nanocomposites, nanostructured carbon materials, and industrial process optimization. He emphasizes bridging academic research with practical industry challenges through innovative educational methodologies.

Advising & Industry Engagement: Serves as Faculty Advisor to SBU's AIChE chapter, mentoring students in competitive engineering events. Prior industrial roles included developing nanotech materials for electronics/aerospace applications.
