Steve Mercer

Steve Mercer is an Assistant Professor of Hospitality and Service Management at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) at Greystone. With over three decades of industry experience in Napa Valley and California's Central Coast, he has worked in fast casual, fine dining, resort management, and co-founded Stax Social Eatery. He holds a BA in Psychology from Sonoma State University, an AA from Napa Valley College, and pursued advanced coursework in Organizational Development, focusing on Restaurant Communication's impact on service quality and profitability.

His teaching spans courses like Hospitality Management, Formal Restaurant Service, Principles of Menus, Managing Profitability, and Gastronomy. Mercer emphasizes practical insights and real-world experience, aiming to cultivate excellence and innovation in future hospitality leaders.
