Dr. Steve Lillebuen is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communications at MacEwan University, teaching investigative journalism, digital media production, and critical media analysis. With nearly a decade of experience at publications including The Age and Australian Associated Press, his work has appeared in The Guardian, The Globe and Mail, and CNN.com.
His research examines journalism ethics, media accountability practices, crime reporting norms, investigative methodologies, and the future of digital news publishing.
Publications focus on ethical dilemmas in crime reporting, the evolving role of public institutions in news ecosystems, and journalistic naming practices, reflecting his expertise in media ethics and digital transitions.
