Steve Hiltz is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Philosophy at Southern Methodist University (SMU). His academic work engages with Wittgensteinian and pragmatist themes, particularly subversive critiques of traditional metaphysics of meaning, alongside interests in political philosophy and philosophy of mind. He is currently developing a new course titled Corporate Culture, Individual Integrity, and the Social Contract with funding from the Maguire Center.

Research Interests span political philosophy, ethical frameworks, and the intersection of pragmatism and quietism. His teaching focuses on American philosophy, social and political theory, business ethics, and critical thinking.
