معرفی
Dr Steve Hall is a Lecturer in Pharmacology at Lancaster University, affiliated with the Faculty of Biomedical and Life Sciences. His research focuses on developing innovative treatments for snakebite envenoming, addressing critical issues with current antivenoms such as high costs and species-specific limitations. He leads projects investigating synergistic drug combinations and localized drug delivery methods to mitigate tissue necrosis caused by cytotoxic snake venoms.
Research Interests: Snakebite pharmacology, venom toxinology, drug repurposing, antivenom alternatives, and biomedical research. His work combines pharmacological analysis with in vitro/in vivo testing to identify effective therapies for neglected tropical diseases.
Grants & Projects:
- Principal Investigator: Synergistic snakebite therapies: Quantifying pharmacological synergy (2025-2025)
- Principal Investigator: A new solution for an age-old problem: Pharmacological development of synergistic drug combinations (2024-2025)
Labs/Teams: Part of the Microbes, Pathogens and Immunity research group at Lancaster University, collaborating on venom pharmacology and drug discovery initiatives.
