Steve Cross

Steve Cross is the Dean of the Media School at London College of Communication (LCC), part of the University of the Arts London (UAL). He has held roles including Course Leader and Programme Director since joining LCC in 2009. As College lead for Research and Knowledge Exchange, he chairs the College Research and Knowledge Exchange Management Group and participates in UAL committees such as the Research Committee and Professorial Sub-Committee.

Prior to LCC, he taught at Goldsmiths College, London School of Economics, and Middlesex University. His research focuses on the sociology of media, communication, and culture, particularly 'deep mediatisation' and the intersection of contemporary media forms with religious practices.

Steve has established partnerships with Hong Kong University SPACE and led the College’s contribution to the UAL Global Pavilion at the Hong Kong British Council’s Spark Festival in 2019. His work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and global academic engagement.
