Steve Bown is Senior Lecturer in Mental Health Nursing with over 22 years of clinical experience specializing in acute, intensive, and crisis care. He teaches in the School of Health and Social Care, focusing on advanced clinical practice in mental health.
Academic interests center on:

- Cognitive biases in clinical decision-making
- Complex case assessment methodologies
- Advanced clinical practice education
Mr. Bown is currently authoring a book chapter on cognitive biases and heuristics in mental health practice for Wiley Publishers. As External Examiner for University of Derby's Mental Health Nursing programs, he contributes to curriculum development and quality assurance in mental health education.
