Steve Board

Steve Board is an Assistant Professor in the School of Business at Maranatha Baptist University (MBU) and serves as the University’s Director of Development. He transitioned to faculty in 2012 after a decade on the MBU Board of Trustees. With over 30 years of business leadership experience, he has revitalized struggling businesses, led a construction company to a 400% revenue increase, and co-founded a startup growing to 240 employees. His teaching integrates practical industry insights, emphasizing the development of Christian business leaders.

Education:

• BS in Architecture, Lawrence Technological University

Research Interests: Focused on applying real-world business leadership principles, including strategic management, organizational recovery, and entrepreneurial growth, informed by his extensive executive experience. He prioritizes mentoring students in ethical business practices aligned with MBU’s mission.

Community & Institutional Roles:

• Directs MBU’s Development Office and oversees the Business Breakfast Series
• Member of Scholarship and Building Committees
• Executive Committee, Watertown Chamber of Commerce
• Chair, Watertown Historic Preservation & Downtown Design Committee

Ministry & Personal Life: Active in church leadership, including preaching, financial stewardship seminars, and youth ministry. Enjoys outdoor activities like camping, hiking, golf, and basketball.
