معرفی
Professor Stephen Trueman is a faculty member at Griffith University's School of Environment and Science (Department of Environment and Marine). He specializes in horticultural science, plant reproductive biology, and agricultural technologies. His work focuses on improving fruit quality and yield through pollination strategies, tissue culture, and advanced imaging techniques. Previously, he held positions at institutions including the University of Missouri, La Trobe University, and the University of Queensland.
His research interests span agroforestry, plant propagation, and precision agriculture. Notably, he studies cross-pollination effects in crops like lychee, avocado, and macadamia, as well as the application of hyperspectral imaging for non-destructive assessment of fruit quality and crop nutrients. He collaborates with organizations such as the Centre for Planetary Health and Food Security and the Environmental Futures Research Institute.
Recent articles highlight his contributions to optimizing pollination management, nutrient analysis via hyperspectral imaging, and understanding self-incompatibility in crops. His funded research includes projects on pollinator support for tropical horticulture, eco-friendly fertilizers, and improving macadamia yields through genotyping.
Grants: He leads or contributes to grants totaling over $12 million, addressing topics like pollination science, stingless bee industry support, and sustainable farming practices.
