Stephen Melka

Stephen Melka, PhD is an Assistant Professor at the Medical College of Wisconsin’s Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine. He serves as a psychologist and team leader for the OEF/OIF/OND Program Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Programs at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. His work focuses on combat Veterans' readjustment to civilian life post-deployment.

Dr. Melka holds a doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Southern Illinois University - Carbondale (200X) and a bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. His research and clinical interests center on PTSD, anxiety, emotion regulation strategies, and substance abuse interventions in veteran populations.

He currently coordinates a specialized residential rehabilitation program addressing psychological readjustment challenges faced by Iraq/Afghanistan veterans. Though no specific awards or publications are listed, his clinical leadership demonstrates expertise in military mental health rehabilitation.
