Stephen McDonagh

Stephen McDonagh is a Lecturer in cadet education at Solent University's Warsash Maritime School, specializing in Marine Electrical & Electronic Engineering. He holds a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Galway (2017). Prior to academia, he worked at the National Oceanography Centre in the Deep Platforms department, contributing to underwater robotic systems like ROV Isis and Slocum Gliders. His career includes six years as an electrician and extensive sea-going experience aboard UK research vessels RRS James Cook and RRS Discovery.

Research focuses on electrical transmission systems, high-voltage engineering, power electronics, and deep-sea robotic systems.
