Ashish Sharma is a Senior Lecturer at the Warsash Maritime School, Solent University, focusing on Marine Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He holds a BTech in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Vellore Institute of Technology (India) and an MSc in Autonomous Vehicle Dynamics and Control from Cranfield University. He is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).
His career transitioned from software engineering at Accenture to the Merchant Navy, where he served as an Electro-Technical Officer (ETO) for over five years, gaining hands-on experience with marine engines and systems. This experience fueled his interest in modern control systems and autonomous technologies.
Teaching emphasizes equipping marine engineers with skills in electrical systems and control technologies to enhance safety and efficiency on ships. His research interests align with industry trends toward zero-emission shipping and autonomous vehicle systems.
