Dr. Stephen McCombie is an Honorary Professor at Macquarie University's School of International Studies and leads the Maritime IT Security research group at NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences. With over 25 years in cybersecurity practice and research, he holds CISSP, CFE, and ISSMP certifications.
Research focuses on:
- Maritime cyber threats
- Cybercrime ecosystems
- Digital forensics methodologies
- State-sponsored cyber operations
His work has received funding from ARC, Horizon Europe and NWO. Awards include the AIPIO Publication Award (2018, 2019) and Best Paper nomination at HICSS 2021.
