Stephen Joseph Elledge is an American geneticist and molecular biologist currently serving as the Gregor Mendel Professor of Genetics and Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women's Hospital. He has held academic positions at Stanford University, Baylor College of Medicine, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute since 1993. His research focuses on the genetic and molecular mechanisms of DNA damage response, cell cycle regulation, and viral infection detection.
