Stephen Hughes is a Lecturer in TESOL at Sheffield Hallam University, affiliated with the Department of Education, Childhood and Inclusion. He has been actively involved in the TESOL department since 2001, initially as an Associate Lecturer and later transitioning to full-time faculty in 2012. His roles include course leadership for specialized programs such as the English for International Nursing and English for Radiation Therapy Physics courses under the Sheffield Hallam Iraq Healthcare Project. He has designed bespoke ESP courses and led pre-sessional English programs since 2015. His teaching focuses on aligning language education with students' academic disciplines and refining assessment methodologies.
