Associate Professor Stephen Healy is a faculty member in the Department of Geography, Planning and Urban Studies at Western Sydney University's School of Social Sciences. He is also a school-based member of the Institute for Culture and Society. His research integrates Marxian, feminist, and psychoanalytic theories to explore social transformation, with a focus on climate resilience, circular economy models, and urban equity. He leads projects such as 'Living with Urban Heat: Becoming Climate-Ready in Social Housing' and co-authored influential books like Solidarity Cities and Take Back the Economy.
Education: Holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
Research interests include climate adaptation strategies, circular economy frameworks, and postcapitalist political economies. He actively pursues interdisciplinary collaborations, addressing topics like racial capitalism, waste management, and community-driven economic innovation.
