Stephen Harder

Stephen Harder, M.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern and a member of the Division of Hospital Medicine. He joined the faculty in 2009 and serves as the Medical Director of Parkland Hospital-at-Home. Dr. Harder is also a liaison between UT Southwestern and Parkland staff, bridging clinical and administrative roles.

Dr. Harder earned his bachelor’s degree in bioengineering from Rice University and his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, where he completed his internal medicine residency.

His research focuses on improving care for patients with co-existing medical and psychiatric conditions, optimizing physician scheduling, and enhancing team coordination in inpatient settings. He has published 17 peer-reviewed case reports and abstracts, presenting findings at multiple scientific conferences.

Dr. Harder actively contributes to medical education through lecture series for students and interns, and has mentored both medical students and faculty. He is affiliated with professional societies including the Society of Hospital Medicine and the American College of Physician Advisors.
