Dr. Stephen Davis is a Lecturer in Archaeology at University College Dublin, specializing in environmental archaeology and remote sensing applications. His research focuses on landscape archaeology, LiDAR analysis, and insect remains studies.
Education:
- PhD from Liverpool John Moores University
His work integrates LiDAR, geophysical survey, and excavation to study archaeological landscapes like Brú na Bóinne World Heritage Site and the Hill of Ward. He co-directs the Kotroni Archaeological Survey Project in Attica, Greece, and has led digital recording projects of passage tombs at Knowth and Dowth.
Research spans:

- Wetland and floodplain evolution
- Early medieval settlement patterns
Dr. Davis serves as Vice Chair of the Aerial Archaeology Research Group, committee member of the Institute of Archaeologists of Ireland, board member of the Discovery Programme, and serves on national committees for climate change planning and heritage management.
